Vegan Jacksonville: Where to Start

Three fully vegan kitchens, including a bar with live music, plus two places where a vegan order is a normal order.

Start in Murray Hill and Riverside. That is where Jacksonville's fully vegan kitchens are, and the distinction that matters most on this site is fully vegan kitchen versus vegan option.

Three of these are fully vegan. Murray Hillbilly on Edgewood does plant-based Southern comfort food and calls itself, fairly, a local vegan establishment. Down the street, The Walrus is a bar that happens to serve only plant-based food, with live local music, pool tables, and late hours, so it is on our nightlife list too. And Sweet Theory Baking Co. has been an entirely vegan bakery on King Street since 2012.

Two are vegan options done properly. Homespun Kitchen on Oak Street builds vegan and gluten-free into the menu instead of bolting them on, and Grassroots Natural Market in Five Points is a grocery with vegan options at the deli counter.
